COVID-19 RESPONSE
The United Methodist Church of Le Mars is in-person or online every Sunday Morning at 10:00 a.m. for Worship.
The United Methodist Church of Le Mars will continue to stream Sunday morning 10:00 AM services live through our web page here and Facebook.
We are also conducting church business using video conferencing.
We pray for the health and safety of our members, their families, and everyone affected by this crisis.
RESOURCES TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE ELDERS
Approximately one in three people in the United States between the ages of 65 and 74 has hearing loss, and nearly half of those older than 75 have difficulty hearing. Unfortunately, many seniors who do not treat their hearing loss fail to do so simply because they believe they cannot afford a pair of hearing aids. The costs involved can be daunting, from audiologist appointments to fittings, to hearing aid and accessory purchases.
So we have made it our mission to research and vet national and state resources that offer free/subsidized hearing aids designed to support seniors in communities across the US to ensure safety and quality of everyday life.
You can learn more about the research for families and seniors here: https://www.caring.com/best-hearing-aids/#financial-assistance-for-seniors-buying-hearing-aids

OUR FOUR BIG FOCUSES
GATHER, CONNECT, GROW, & SERVE
SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration,
nearly 60% of college students use drugs and alcohol. Substance use among
college students can diminish academic performance, reduce the likelihood of
employment after graduation, and pose serious health risks.
Our guide helps students learn about which substances pose the greatest risks
to them, the consequences of continuous usage, and steps to overcome addiction.
You can view the guide here: https://www.intelligent.com/substance-abuse-recovery-support-guide-for-college-students/.
Individuals Experiencing Unemployment
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of
Spring 2022, nearly 6 million individuals were without jobs. There are programs
designed to help people supplement lost income if they become unemployed
through no fault of their own. However, there are state-specific requirements
to qualify.
Our resource helps those currently unemployed determine eligibility for
unemployment benefits, walk them thru the filing process, and provide
information on additional unemployment resources.
You can view it here: https://www.resumebuilder.com/claiming-unemployment-benefits-by-state/.
Here at ResumeBuilder.com, we believe that building the perfect resume should
be simple. With your help, we can create awareness about tools and resources
that can help people take control of their careers. Would our resource be
something you’d be open to mentioning on your site http://www.lemarsumchurch.org/announcements/announcements?
